As a community service, the Montgomery Kennel Club sponsors a verbal, informational “breeder’s referral service.” This free service puts prospective puppy buyers in contact with the national club for the breed(s) that they have interest. The national club can provide buyers with information about responsible breeders not only in this area, but nationally as well.
The Montgomery Kennel Club’s Breeder Referral Service also provides information about how to be a responsible pet owner, and also information from MKC members willing to share information about their chosen breeds as well.

If you do not see your breed listed, or you are undecided about which breed may be best suited for you and your lifestyle, we suggest that you visit the American Kennel Club’s helpful guide, What Dog is Right for Me? including a BREED SELECTOR TOOL. Once you have decided on a breed, the AKC also has helpful information on learning more information about the breed, finding the right breeder, or even the right breed rescue group.
